Original vintage lithograph poster for a poetry reading evening: Pour les 70 ans de Maiakovski (70th anniversary of Mayakovsky), Soirée organisée au Theatre Nationale du Palais de Chaillot, Vendredi 28 Juin a 21 Heures. Artistic image on a yellow background featuring a person holding up a book with the text (Mayakovsky Chagall) on it and a horse, row of houses and people below, designed by the notable artist Marc Chagall (1887-1985). Vladimir Mayakovsky (1893-1930) was a notable Russian poet, playwright, artist and actor. Printed at the Atelier Mourlot, Paris, France in 1963 this original lithographic poster was printed to commemorate the life of writer Vladimir Maïakovski with a poetic evening dedicated to his writings on what would be his 70th birthday. Maïakovski passed away in 1930 and was a dear friend of Marc Chagalls'. Edition of 500. Ref. Sorlier # 45.
