| Annabel Hewitt was born in Sussex, England in 1946 but her family later settled in Trinidad. She returned to England to study art at the Tunbridge Wells Art School in Kent, then travelled throughout Europe and North Africa where lifestyles and colorful cultures influenced her work before returning to England. Her style has evolved over the years . Annabel creates both spirited paintings and evocative collages as she explores various styles of expression. For her collages on richly textured, handmade paper, she layers images from nature with cultural images and text to create sensitive yet lively tableaux. Many corporations including British Airways, Nestle, and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines have commissioned her artwork and is also included in the collections of such corporations as Citibank, Morgan Stanley, Mercedes Benz Finance and Saatchi. |
