Guillermo Silva Sanz de Santamaria. Guillermo Silva Sanz de Santamaria Painter, sculptor, engraver, writer and Yoga teacher, Guillermo Silva was born on June 7th, 1921, in Bogota, Colombia.. When he was forty years old, he married Maria Galindo, a beautiful Mexican girl. They had two children together; a son Juan, and a daughter Sandra. While living in Mexico City as a Master Engraver, he taught engraving at UNAM and the Ibéro-Americain University. While there he developed the technique of Intaglio and "Mixed Technique" etching with watercolor. He then moved to India with his family. While living there for 10 years, he studied Yoga. He eventually became a Yoga teacher and a competent naturalist. While traveling all over the world, Senor Silva was looking for a perfect place to live and work. He and his family finally decided to settle in Malaga, which is located in Southern Spain. Although they "settled" down there, his curiosity and restlessness never let him stop exploring and experiencing life and the world. During last 10 years, the Silva family has spent the summers in Norway. Recently his versatility and creative impulses have pushed him to do many sculptures (wood and bronze) and ceramics, as well as new oil paintings. Three years ago he become a happy Grandpa - he has two grandchildren from Juan, named Surya Gabriela and Gustavo Jyoti. Juan is married to Magdalena, who is originally from Poland. His daughter Sandra has recently married Jesus from Spain. They are living in Marbella and are running an art gallery. Actually Silva divides his life between his Artwork and finishing a book aimed at bringing harmony to our lives. He will use all his wonderful experiences from his life to bring this special book to us. He is truly a modern Renaissance man. How fortunate we are to have this talent and this man in our world.
