Jean-Emile LABOUREUR
France

(1877 - 1943)
Laboureur was a pupil of August Lepère in Paris, gaining a thorough knowledge of print-making, from wood engraving to etching and woodcut. Besides producing a large body of very fine prints, Laboureur was the premier illustrator of books by many authors. Some of his woodcuts recall Vallotton but his etchings show a highly individual style, with elongated figures.
